NORTH SOLAR WARRANTY CLAIM & REPAIR AUTHORISATION FORM
NORTH SOLAR
WARRANTY CLAIM & REPAIR AUTHORISATION FORM
IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE ARRANGING REPAIRS
Do not engage a plumber, electrician, technician or other contractor to undertake warranty work or incur costs on behalf of North Solar without first obtaining written authorisation from North Solar, except where urgent work is reasonably necessary to address an immediate safety risk or prevent significant property damage.
Submitting this form does not constitute acceptance of a warranty claim or authorisation to undertake work.
A North Solar Warranty Claim Number is not, by itself, approval for third-party expenditure. Any approved expenditure must be specifically authorised in writing by North Solar.

6. THIRD-PARTY REPAIRS & EXPENSES
Unless otherwise required by the Australian Consumer Law:
North Solar does not authorise a customer, plumber, electrician, installer or other third party to incur expenses on North Solar’s behalf without North Solar’s prior written approval.
If North Solar authorises third-party work, the written authorisation should specify:
- the work authorised;
- the contractor authorised to perform it, where applicable;
- any approved parts;
- the approved labour/time allowance;
- the maximum approved expenditure; and
- any requirement to return replaced components.
An invoice exceeding the authorised scope or amount is not automatically payable by North Solar.
The customer remains responsible for any work they independently request that has not been authorised by North Solar, subject always to rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. EMERGENCY WORK
If emergency work is considered necessary, the customer or their contractor must notify North Solar in writing before commencing work, where it is reasonably practicable to do so.
Notification must be sent by:
SMS: 0435 016 869
Email: en*******@************om.au
The notification should include:
- customer’s name and installation address;
- brief description of the emergency;
- photographs or video of the fault where reasonably practicable;
- name and contact details of the attending plumber, electrician or contractor; and
- work proposed to make the installation safe or prevent further significant property damage.
Sending an SMS or email does not constitute authorisation by North Solar to undertake warranty work or incur costs on North Solar’s behalf.
Where there is an immediate safety risk or significant risk of property damage and it is not reasonably practicable to wait for North Solar’s written response, only the minimum emergency work reasonably necessary to make the installation safe or prevent further significant damage should be undertaken.
The customer or contractor must:
- SMS North Solar on 0435 016 869 as soon as the emergency is identified;
- email details to en*******@************om.au as soon as reasonably practicable;
- photograph or video the fault and installation before work commences, where safe and reasonably practicable;
- retain all allegedly defective or replaced components;
- ensure that only work reasonably necessary to address the immediate emergency is undertaken;
- obtain an itemised invoice identifying labour, materials, call-out and travel charges separately; and
- provide North Solar with the contractor’s written findings and all relevant photographs, videos and replaced components upon request.
Emergency work does not automatically constitute an approved warranty repair and does not automatically make North Solar responsible for the contractor’s charges.
Any claim for reimbursement will be assessed by North Solar having regard to the cause of the failure, the circumstances of the emergency, whether the work and costs were reasonably necessary, and the customer’s rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. CUSTOMER DECLARATION

I understand that submission of this form:
- does not mean that North Solar has accepted the warranty claim;
- does not establish that the product is defective;
- does not authorise repairs or third-party expenditure;
- does not authorise a contractor to invoice North Solar; and
- does not constitute an admission of liability by North Solar.
I agree, where reasonably practicable, to provide North Solar with an opportunity to investigate the alleged fault before the product is repaired, modified or discarded.
